I got way behind on blogging toward the end of last year. Life just got really busy! One of my New Year's resolutions work-wise is to catch up and since I have a photo shoot with Trey this weekend, I thought I should start with him!
I had a great photo shoot the other day! Meet Allison, Brandon and their first baby, Colton. At 11 days new, he already had quite the personality; a little silly, a lot of sweet, very smart and totally lovable! I love his hair swirl, those kissable lips, the way he held daddy's fingers and how he already knew how to suck his thumb. (with a little guidance from Mom & Grandma)
You may have seen some of those magical photos I posted on Facebook of a wedding I shot back in November. From the castle to the snow and sparklers to the beautiful couple, it was a photographer's dream! It truly was a picture-perfect wedding and my husband and I were incredibly lucky to capture the moments of the day. Many people have asked how I landed THAT job. Well here's a little secret, Jenny is my cousin and now Dan is family too. :)
During his speech at the reception the father of the bride said it best when he said "it takes a village". SaraAnn and Torey's wedding came together in a small amount of time with a big amount of love and help from so many people in the surrounding community. I think it says a lot about the couple and the people of Northeastern Montana.
This was a first for me and I loved the idea! Why not take some of the stress out of your wedding day by getting some of the photography done ahead of time? That's what I love about Nick and Kathy. They are smart, practical, organized and efficient; four of my favorite characteristics! The hard part about this kind of session is that you can't share the photos until AFTER the wedding. Patience is not one of my best characteristics, and in this case I had to wait three whole months! That was hard! At least they let me share one photo ahead of time. You may recognize their silhouettes from my Facebook page. It's one of my all-time favorites!
Jenna and Nate Doornek have been blessed with a lovely life! They've been together since junior year of high school, they're both teachers in their hometown of Glasgow, they have a beautiful home and the cutest little boy. Three-year-old Beckett is full of life and love! He likes to play, run around and ham it up for the camera!
It's hard not to get attached to your clients, especially the little ones. I knew Anna before she was born and now she's about to turn one! She used to be this tiny little baby (always with a lot of hair) who could hardly move and now she's crawling, smiling, smirking and squealing! Our friend Emily always uses the hashtag #stopgrowingup and it's very true. I cannot believe how time flies! It hits even harder because Anna's just a few weeks older than my daughter. They are total opposites and when the two of them get together it's hilarious to watch. They are going to get into trouble one day, we just know it.
The Kendalls were referred to me by a family I took pictures for recently. Judy wanted to get family photos before her daughter moved to Omaha to be a nurse. We decided to meet at Royer Park in Roseville. It brought back a lot of memories for Judy and Randy. Judy said she used to take the kids there when they were little, so little that Sarah and John didn't even remember. She said they would get happy meals and then play at the park.
