Choosing the perfect location is key to having a successful photography session! The location gives your session a certain kind of look and really sets the scene for how it goes.

I highly encourage a quiet, open space with trees, long grasses, a beautiful view to the West and open sky to take advantage of a gorgeous sunset and beautiful golden hour light.

I realize that you may want something different, or a location that’s special to you and your family, and I always try to accommodate your needs and desires! Urban backgrounds are always fun and many people prefer parks. I will totally make these types of locations work, but because they are often busy, filled with people, streets, signs and cars, it takes away from the ability for us to let loose and be spontaneous. If you’re ready my article about how to get the most of out of your family session, you know that’s what it’s all about!

Here are some options for locations. I’m always open to hear your suggestions as well! Just keep in mind, many locations outside of Sacramento will require a travel fee.
