HOW DID THE SPRING MINI SESSIONS AT THE MAKERS PLACE COME ABOUT?

I first met Leslie Bosserman, the mastermind behind The Makers Place, while sweating and working out with our kids in tow at a Fit4Mom Sacramento Stroller Strides class. We hit it off and became friends! I’ve photographed her growing family and even collaborated with her to put on a photography class in her home.

Now I’m currently a member at The Makers Place and love the opportunity to have a clean, clutter and kid-free space to edit and work on my photography business. I cannot tell you how much more efficient I am there than at home! Although I don’t use the onsite childcare, I know it’s so amazing for all the parents who do and I love that it’s an option if I need it in the future.

Leslie and I decided to collaborate again and offer Spring Mini Photo Sessions to not only Makers Place members, but all of you! It’s a great way to get some adorable Spring photos of your kiddos (and you if you want to squeeze in) and get a quick, up-close look at The Makers Place.

WHAT IS THE MAKERS PLACE?

The Makers Place™ is an intentionally-designed multipurpose space where working parents can create, connect, and collaborate while their young children are cared for onsite in our Mini Makers™ Studio.

ARRIVING + PARKING 

The address is 2618 X Street Sacramento, CA 95818 and there is free 2-hour street parking along X St, 26th St, and 27th St. or you can park without a limit under the freeway overpass on 26th St. just north of X St (just be mindful of parking signs and local laws). When you arrive, please come in quietly through the front door (no need to knock), sign in as a guest on the iPad on the real table to the left when you enter and take a seat on the gold couch until you are called into the studio for your session. The room we will be meeting in is the first door on the right once you enter.

Plan to arrive no earlier than five minutes before your assigned time. Please be mindful and respectful of the people working inside and remain as quiet as possible. Children are not allowed to run around inside, so if you arrive early, you are welcome to wait outside with your child(ren) until a minute or two before your assigned session is slated to begin or you can come inside an wait in an open seat if quiet.

PLEASE ARRIVE ON TIME

These are quick, back-to-back mini sessions, so please don’t be late. If you are late, you will unfortunately lose your time. If you don’t show up at all, you will not be refunded and will not be able to reschedule. If unforeseen circumstances happen, I will try my best to accommodate you but not at the expense of another client’s time. My cell phone number is 805-216-7667. I will have my phone on me, but may not be able to answer calls or respond to text messages if I’m in the middle of a session.

PAYMENT

A $25 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your spot. The remaining balance of $50 is due on the day of the session. You can pay via Venmo, Paypal, cash or check. Please make checks payable to Courtney Carlmark and fill them out before your session begins. A signup sheet will be available to you on the day of the session. Please mark how paid.

DIGITAL IMAGES

Your session includes three digital images. You will be allowed to choose your favorite images via an online gallery. The gallery will be e-mailed to you within five days of the session (but likely a lot sooner). Once you choose your three favorites, you need to contact me via e-mail, Facebook messenger or text message to let me know your list is complete. Once I hear from you, I will make final edits and send you another e-mail with the link to download the images. You can print wherever you want, but I highly recommend a professional lab rather than places like Walgreens, CVS, etc. The quality is substantially different! The gallery will be available to you for a month. You will also have the option to choose more than three images and can purchase them for $10 each.
