Super mom!

Family fun at McKinley Park

Sometimes I think life is hard with one baby and no family around to help. Imagine adding twins to that equation! Melissa and her husband, Justin, are doing just fine. In fact, they have three lovely, smart and fun kids!

Perfect little family

Sock monkey sweetness

Melissa got a rare Monday off and packed the four of them to the park for a quick mini session before it started to rain.

Love this photo!

Beanies from Jilly Beanies Boutique on Etsy

I also tried to get Melissa an Easter photo, but the ears only stayed on the little ones for one picture. Dominic looked cute hoping around the park though!

Sweet brother

Dominic is almost four and likes helping his mom with his little brother and sister. It's easy to see how much he loves them! Emilia and Landon are 8-months old and like to move and explore. Landon loves to flash his big grin and Emelia can be a little more serious.

Sweet baby girl

Best big brother!

Since it was chilly, I put some fun beanies from my favorite Montana boutique on the twins. Don't they look precious?

Snow owl

Melissa is one lucky mom with a lap full of love! Thanks for sharing your precious family with me. I had a blast and think you are amazing!

Lots of love,

Courtney

Sweet Sophia

A little ray of sunshine!

You can't help but smile when you meet Sophia. She's sweet, smart, adorable and tons of fun! She likes flowers, butterflies, jewelry, dolls and wagons. (among many other fun things) I enjoyed every moment getting to know this little girl!

I love the look on her face in this picture!

Sophia just turned three so the photo shoot was all about her! She picked flowers, hunted for eggs, ran up and down the path and even got to wear fun jewelry!

What kid doesn't love running?!

Searching for the eggs I hid in the grass.

Her mom, Jill, picked out two colorful dresses and accessorized them with bows and jewelry. Sophia looked like a little model with her blonde locks, baby blues, pouty lips and rosy cheeks!

Love her rosy checks and lips!

Picking flowers

It was important to find a location with wildflowers and nature. This spot at Negro Bar in Folsom turned out to be perfect! Yellow and purple flowers made a beautiful backdrop along with the warm rays from the setting sun.

Color, patterns and jewelry are perfect for kid photos!

Such a natural beauty!

I followed Sophia's lead on this photo shoot and tried to capture her just being her. Thank you sweet Sophia for brightening my week!

Lots of love,

Courtney

Tic Tacke Toes!

Ryland James Tacke

It doesn't matter where I've lived, I've always found connections to home. I met Chris, Jen, Jameson and Ryland through Chris' sister, Vicki-Lynn. Vicki-Lynn and I used to work together on occasion when I covered the news at Q2 in Billings, Montana. That was years ago, but of course, we're still friends on Facebook. I was completely surprised and honored when she contacted me to take some very special pictures of her very special nephew.

Mommy and Ryland

What a beautiful gift to her brother and sister-in-law! Ryland was born on March 13th to this gorgeous and fun new family!

Tacke Family

He's so lucky to have such a cool big brother who loves him! I imagine as Ryland gets older the playing will get a little more rough than this precious moment in the wagon.

So precious

Sweet little frog

Ryland was such a sweetie. Once he realized the blanket was soft and warm he cozied up to the idea of multiple hats and props.

You can get this great Montana made beanie on Jilly Beanies Boutique on Etsy. Many cute options! https://www.etsy.com/shop/JillyBeaniesBoutique

Easter picture

Maybe he'll be a football player like Daddy?

The photo shoot wouldn't be complete without a picture of Ryland wearing a Montana hat that Vicki had sent from Billings. It hadn't showed up yet, so Chris and Jennifer checked the mail all afternoon. Sure enough, it got there just in time and fit perfectly!

I hope Ryland gets to explore his Montana roots someday!

Lots of tic Tacke toes! :)

Congrats to the Tacke family who just grew by 10 more toes! Taking these pictures made me so happy. I hope they make you happy too!

Lots of love,

Courtney

The Trey Man

Getting more handsome by the day...

You know when you're a new parent and you feel like you could just sit and stare at your baby all day long? That's Suzanne and Teddy! They looked so happy smiling down at their sleeping boy, Trey.

Can you blame them? In just a couple months, Mr. Trey has grown cuter and cuter. I am obsessed with his baby blue eyes!

I'm also obsessed with his hair. His momma brought some product to tame it and his daddy and I said "No way, he owns it!"

Trey, on the other hand, is obsessed with his tongue and loved to stick it out for the camera!

He's getting quite the personality, but the little guy is still one of the most easy going babies I know. I put him in a wagon, a basket and even in a heart frame on the grass and he just chilled.

I guess he gets all his great qualities from his parents! Thank you Suzanne and Teddy for letting me capture your baby boy growing up.

So beautiful, so chill, so loved.

Lots of love,

Courtney

Party in the park!

Energy + props + bright colors = fun family photo shoot

I really like people who are not afraid to be themselves in front of someone new. This family let loose with me and it made for some fun moments and great pictures! They brought their big smiles, hilarious personalities, fun ideas and energy to this photo shoot! They even brought their own combs as a prop!

I love it when people bring ideas and props to the photos shoot. It helps me capture their personalities!

Sue and RJ are a timeless couple! RJ can be a bit mischievous at times, but Sue keeps him in line. I made them smooch for the camera and was told by Sue it had been 50 years since they had kissed like that! I don't know, they look pretty comfortable to me and with four children they must be pretty darn good at kissing, right?!

With four girls, there is never a dull moment in this family! I brought along my new heart prop, which we used in several photos, but I loved it when they made a human heart instead!

A big thank you to these guys for wearing color! They looked amazing and very "Springish".

Thanks for letting me be a part of the family for awhile! I tried to capture your spirit, fun and love!

Lots of love,

Courtney

Animal lover, tree climber and mathematician

A girl after my own heart...

Well all except the mathematician part! I could use a lesson or two from Sabrina, this second grad math wiz.

When Sabrina's mother told me she wanted to bring some critters along to the photo shoot, I got really excited! I grew up with horses, cats, dogs and a guinea pig, so I felt an immediate connection with the 8-year-old when she introduced me to her friends. Meet Aurora the cat, Lizzy the lizard and Coffee the bunny.

I have to admit we were all a little nervous at first. Taking photos of a lizard was a first for me, the animals were a little nervous being outside of their comfy cages and Sabrina was scared of the sharp nails that always come out when animals get jumpy! We made it through with no problems.

Sabrina was a natural! She loved flashing her pretty smile and posing for the camera. When she started climbing trees, it reminded me even more of my childhood.

I tried to capture her curiosity, innocence and sweet personality.

These pictures are a surprise for Dad. Shhhh, don't tell! :)

Lots of love,

Courtney

Ryan, Becky and her beautiful belly

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes baby in a baby carriage!

Becky and Ryan already have a great story to share with their little one someday. Not only were they were setup, their parents were the matchmakers!

Perfect pair

Perfect pair

It's been just the two of them for more than three years, but now their little family is growing.

We incorporated many of the baby shower gifts!

We incorporated many of the baby shower gifts!

Becky has less than two months to go, but you wouldn't know it from her tiny baby bump. Looking good momma!

The two were in town for their baby shower. It's not a true shower without a good rain, right? We had to improvise. Ryan, I'm sorry I made you hold the pink umbrella!

Rain or shine, they're clearly in love and looking forward to their new journey.

Best of luck to this classy couple! Can't wait to meet baby girl! :)

Lots of love,

Courtney

Teddy, Suzanne and Trey

Little slugger!

I met Suzanne and Trey in the changing room at Babies R Us and we hit it off instantly! Suzanne was so nice and fun and my daughter, who's a couple months older than Trey, was very jealous of his awesome hair! I was so happy and honored when Suzanne looked me up and asked if I would take their family photos. When I met Teddy I wasn't surprised to find out he's just as great!

Look at little Trey in awe of his parents :)

We met at Land Park, a special spot for the two, because it's where they took their engagement photos. It was a perfect day and I was thrilled to find green grass and wildflowers! Suzanne wore the best dress that just popped in front of the green background. Way to go!

Trey was a perfect little boy and dressed so dapper! We walked all over the park and he never cried. His mommy and daddy were very proud of him!

This family loves the Giants so we made sure to dress Trey up in his game gear and yes, I put him in the mitt. How could I resist?! Go Giants!

He's ready for his first game this summer and it won't be long before he's playing catch with Daddy and hitting balls in the backyard. Thanks for letting me capture these precious moments!

Lots of love,

Courtney
