I love meeting new people and hearing their stories, but there's one recently that really touched me. My friend Suzanne introduced me to Annie and her little one, Carter, at a library playdate. At first glance, I thought Carter was a normal, cute little boy and new friend for my daughter. I was surprised to find out there's much more behind his toothy grin. His story is one of perseverance, strength and survival and Annie said I could share it with all of you.
Christine and Adam Emmett and their three kids drove almost 40 miles for their very first family photo shoot. We met at Riverfront Park in Billings, Mt. It was perfect timing because earlier in the week the grass was still brown from the long winter. A few days of warm weather and sun did the trick and the grass was greening! It made for a great backdrop for three adorable kids.
Amelia is another friend from my hometown of Glasgow, Montana. It's crazy to think that 12 years ago we graduated from high school, now we both have daughters!
Cassie and I grew up just outside the tiny town of Glasgow, Montana. We were best friends when we were little so I was excited when she asked me to take some photos of her little one when I was in Montana over Easter. Her daughter, Teagan, is just over a year now and as cute as can be! She's a ham for the camera! I took some adorable Easter photos and then just let her run around and explore. Cassie was very prepared for the photo shoot and brought an adorable rocking horse and fun jewelry. Kids this age lose interest quickly so the more props the better!
Crissy is an awesome high school senior from Stockton and we had so much fun together! She's sweet, funny, smart and easygoing. She loves animals and babies so we became instant friends. :) She also wants to be a photographer in the military when she graduates. You go girl! Someday she is going to be the one behind the camera and I can't wait to see her photos.
We're pretty close to the Zimmers, literally and figuratively speaking. We're merely feet away as neighbors and over the past 9 months we've grown to be great friends. When we do a photo session, it's a family affair! Last week the six of us packed into our vehicles and caravaned to the park for Anna's six month photo shoot.
I'm so lucky I met Emily in a Facebook moms group. She's an amazing mom and now my friend! Her gorgeous daughter, Nora, is just a few weeks older than my daughter so they're bound to be buds too!
Nick and Kathy met waaaay back in high school, but the timing wasn't right. Now, 14 years later, everything is right! They're engaged, getting married in October and completely smitten with each other. To be honest with you, I was a bit nervous for the photo shoot. It got canceled twice because of rain and then my friend Vi, who is Nick's sister, told me I might have a hard time getting her brother to come out of his shell. I'm glad he proved you wrong on this one Vi! :)
