Taylor Lynn Rupprecht is a happy, sweet baby with the most contagious smile! She was born on a hot summer day in Arizona a year ago. Today she's celebrating a new year of life at her cooler home in Northern California. I didn't get to meet Taylor Bug until a few months ago, but I knew her when she was still in her mommy's belly. Jennifer worked with my husband in Phoenix and we were pregnant at the same time.
Sometimes it takes timing to find your true love. In Saraann and Torey's case, it was timing and a dog! Their love story began way back in the seventh grade. That was the first of three times they dated. After their second go around, Saraann found a new love. A hairy, hyper and lovable puppy. Turns out Cora would be Torey's way back into Saraann's heart.
I have to admit I was a little nervous about camping with an 8-month-old, but mostly just excited! I started camping when I was little and it brings back so many great memories. I can't help but smile when I think about the sounds of a tent being zipped up or the crackle of a fire cutting into the silent night or the smell of pine, smoke and burned marshmallows. I couldn't wait to share that with Laken...outside the womb! I went camping while pregnant with her twice last summer. The last time I was almost 8-months along and slept two nights on a thin backpacking pad! I promise sleeping with your baby in your sleeping bag is much more comfortable than sleeping with your baby in your belly.
The most commonly asked question I get from clients is "What should we wear?" It's a hard question to answer because every family is different, but your clothes should reflect who you are and what you like to do. Are you preppy, laid back, modern, funky, colorful, fun? Let that shine in your pictures by picking the right outfits. The goal is to coordinate but not match. Here are some tips I hope will help when you sift through your closets or go shopping.
In my last blog post I wrote about being scared of little boys. Mia is the reason why I LOVE little girls! :)
Mia's the daughter of Stephanie and the granddaughter of Sheila. Sheila is my mom's friend and coworker from Fort Peck, a tiny town in Montana where everyone knows everyone. When Sheila found out I was in town, she booked a photo session for Mia.
I love little boys, but when I got pregnant I was secretly hoping for a girl. The little boys I knew were loud, boisterous and busy and I was scared I wouldn't be able to keep up. Some women are made to be moms of boys though and my friend Erin is one of them! She may be small, but she's smart, sassy and strong and the proud mommy of two beautiful boys.
Now that I'm a photographer, I see Glasgow (my hometown in Montana) in a whole new light. I love to drive around and find good photography locations. I never would have guessed that a park where I used to play Lunar Lander (a game we made up) with my friends is now a perfect spot for pictures! Centennial Park has a little rock path, white bridges and swings. It's perfect for taking pictures of kids because the variety keeps them entertained and happy!
Laura inspires me! She found a way to stay at home with her little girl but still work and use her creativity. It's the best of both worlds if you ask me! Her business is called Aubrey's Custom Boutique after her daughter. Aubrey is her inspiration and mini model. She makes tutus, headbands, bows, baskets, necklaces, bow ties and much more cute stuff for little ones. I stumbled across one of Laura's Facebook ads for a tutu Easter basket awhile back and became obsessed with her creations! You may notice some of the babies in my photos wearing items made by her. :)
